generating geometry matrix from silhouette
hi!
i was wondering could you help me with some kind of extrude efect. i would like, to generate shape based on silhouette. i was trying to use rutt etra and many other solutions, especially given to me by Robert Ramirez, but with weak effect. So i thought, that maybe i will make an outline, based on binary image of silhouette, and than transform every non black pixel to verticle of new geometry matrix, and then copy it with given depth value. I am unfortunately not very familiar with opengl geometry matrix format, so maybe some jitter guru could help me.
here is the idea, that robert share with me, but apart from the background plane, that i dont know how to delate, i think that there is more efficient way to do it. with no need to use all of the pixels in matrix - esspecialy those black...
and here is my first little step, to generate this annoying geometry matrix, that i am dealing with for months..
If what i am saying isnt clear, because of my weak knowledge of english, i am posting an example, that i v made in 3d program.
1.jpg and 2.jpg are screenshots from 3d modeling software, and export.jpg is the file used in my patches.
just change countdown.mov with your silhuette...
this is really interesting. i think it might be the language barrier but how are you generating the silhouette.
thanks
J
in this image i am taking it from kinect, but the other way, is here:
