Ghostlabs and EchoNestLive
This crispy new website has inspired me to actually register and contribute. Long time lurker this forum has helped me immensely in writing simple fun patches for DJs/Vjs (amateur attempts at best):
I’m knee deep in a jitter video mixer/sampler/chopper upper that plays nice with my mpc and mpc syle controllers if anyone is interested in peeking at that (might work well for adding video edits to max for live?).
I was also involved with a project this weekend at the Boston Music Hack Day that utilizes the Echonest API for music analyzation and brings those stats into live (and max for live). More info here:
I wasn’t as involved in the java or api side of this project although if this is the kind of thing that interests anyone on here as well perhaps I cold act as a surrogate for making that code available. Don’t think my team mates post on here.
looking forward to learning and linking up more with the max community. thanks!
Hi, welcome to the forum! The echonest project sounds amazing, would you be willing to share the java external?
Did someboby compile this project for OSX?
I tried, but as I’m new to Java, to SVN and to Eclipse, I didn’t manage yet to get a working class.
Here is what I have in Max’ window:
java.lang.RuntimeException: You need to use "Import Library" to add processing.core.PGraphicsJava2D to your sketch.
I tried to use the latest Processing core.jar, but it didn’t help.
I was so happy I found the way to switch Eclipse’s compiler version to 1.5, but now I’m stuck.
I am very interested in your video mixer/ masher thing. Was this created in Max MSP? If so I would love to have a look at is as I am trying something similar for a University project.
