I’m currently building a performance environment (for musicians with cerebral palsy) based on a simple nylon-string model. My PhD supervisor has suggested that I could employ the interface (FSR-Arduino) in a variety of synthesis patches, but adhering to the parameter mapping applied to the string model: velocity (allied to timbre); pitch; texture density. Arguably, these three elements represent the key parameters in acoustic instrument sound production. I would welcome suggestions as to what you feel are the applicable parameters in a granular synthesis patch. What are the KEY parameters of granular synthesis? Envelope shape, overlap, density etc?
