Harvesting Metadata?
About every other time I open max5 it acts very very sluggish. Then I get the harvesting metadata loadscreen and after it finishes the program runs smoothly.
Any idea why this is happening so often?
I just cleaned out preferences as Max 5 was crashing 70% of the time on start-up.
I've noticed this `harvesting metadata' window - what is it doing? I can't actually close it.
Any suggestions on this?
Yeah I'm getting very slow behaviour for about 2 minutes after every start-up, then it runs fine. Have had a few crashes but they were my own fault!
I looked for the max 5 preferences file but couldn't find it.
Is it with all the other .plist files in library/application support/preferences/etc...?
I'm on mac btw
mine - on a mac is:
users/andrewrobertson/Library/Preferences/Max 5 Preferences Folder/
Erasing this seemed to help, but I still have some crashes on start-up. Can you post back here if it works out?
Finally found the preferences, I erased the preferences folder as well as the com.apple.cycling74.....plist (can't remember exactly what its called, but its on its own outside the folder)
First startup after this got the harvesting metadata which is expected, but now its running fine!
No more slow startups so far!
I hope you get your problem sorted out too.
