Hipno and M4L

November 26, 2009 | 12:45 pm

It seems that when you have installed M4L, the Hipno installer doesn’t let you install its plugins because there is "a newer version already installed on the computer". Even though cycling 74 don’t do support anymore for Hipnos, it would be a shame if these littles beasts won’t work anymore. I would have to choose between Hipno and M4L?

i was wondering the same. the elecro.tap website isn’t that much of a help. There’s some blog post by tim place, where he says they are thinking about a solution. although this dates back to june.

at the moment it’s either m4l or hipno, which is absolute a shame.

Thanks for the words!

Work on Hipno has been slow, but I’m hopeful that something can be done on a couple of fronts. There have been many challenges…

First though, the VTheremin plug-in from Hipno was used as the basis for the Video Theremin lesson in Max for Live. So that means you even get the source patchers!

Second, are there particular things from Hipno that you are missing? It is unlikely that everything from Hipno 1.x will make it to Hipno 2.x. Knowing what is most valuable would help with focusing the efforts…

I really enjoy the granular stuff such as drunken sailor, brita or deluge. crackverb was also a big thing for me as were the modulators.
