I'm writing a patch for a Launchpad to handle repeated button presses differently depending on the consecutive number of times that the same button is pressed. All 64 buttons are already mapped to clips using Live's MIDI Map Mode. This seems to make the MIDI notes from all 64 buttons unavailable to any Max MIDI objects for any manipulation - observation, getting, or setting.

Is there any way to receive the MIDI notes from the buttons in parallel so that they trigger via Live's MIDI mappings as well as through the programmatic mappings of my patch?

I'd rather not completely rewrite the existing Ableton MIDI mappings in Max if possible.

Install the externals and take a look at the help patchers. The input receives all midi regardless of Live midi mapping assignments.

Yes - unfortunately I'm on a PC running Windows 7 64bit - has anyone found an equivalent solution for this platform? Thanks!

As an alternative solution, you could use some midi routing software (MidiYoke, MidiOX) that receives midi from Launchpad and sends it to Live on 2 different ports, one for remote and the other for track input.
