I broke soundflower (?!)
I know soundflower isn’t supported by C74, but I know we are still a lot to use it.
My laptop is MBP with 10.9.1
After having tried to find an alternative (wiretap anywhere that isn’t compatible with 10.9, btw, or JACK OSX that crashes a lot here) and tested several things as explained here: http://cycling74.com/forums/topic/soundflower-glitches/, I decided to push further soundflower.
I uninstalled wiretap with their uninstaller, I uninstalled JACK too.
Restarted and … Soundflower doesn’t route my audio from Live to anything (including Max) but also in the other way anymore…
I uninstalled Soundflower, with the uninstaller
Reinstalled it and … same.
I tried with Max as 32bit or 64bit. Same.
Should I buy another machine …? Kidding.
Anyone already had that ?
I did not have the same problem but sound flower kept crashing. So I uninstalled with the provided script. Restarted. Reinstalled only to find that it was still crashing.
I uninstalled once more, but this time I removed manually the file: com.cycling74.Soundflowerbed.plist located in ~/library/preferences accessible in finder using goto and pressing the "option" key. I restarted my computer, reinstalled and it worked.
It has only been 2 days, but so far so good.
Don’t know if this will solve your problem but it could be worth a try.
no way, it doesn’t work here.
I FINALLY got JACK OSX working and even working better than soundflower never did!
I’d suggest it now in replacement of Soundflower.
It doesn’t even produce any crackling I had with Soundflower…!
good to know you got a replacement for soundflower. The problem in my case is that I have a couple of programs that rely on soundflower and I can’t do without it. Don’t think they would work with a substitue.
JACK is REALLY more featured than Soundflower.
Especially, I will rely on it for my installation disrupt!on. I can script things with JACK for automatically create my audio mapping with Live, Max, etc.
Let me know if you had some problems with it, I could help maybe.
