I have a performance tomorrow night and I want to make sure is in tip top shape for Max
Ok so during practice today my computer crashed out while running max. It started with the sound flickering out and then it went to a black screen-I'm running Vista out of a Dell.
It never really does that but I want to take every precaution to help me computer be in tip top running condition while performing with Max tomorrow night.
Help me out!
Paul.
You might need a Vista wiz for this one. On Mac, I kill all unnecessary processes before a performance, including database daemons, wifi if I don't need a connexion, Bluetooth, etc.

Create a new account on your PC with admin privileges. Disable all
unnecessary tasks and services using msconfig.exe. Make sure
priority is given to background services. Disable indexing as
well. Disable the "Aero" interface. After that you should be able
to login in to your new performance user account and have a lean
fast environment.
That was really useful information thank you both for the replies. I had already played the show before I got them however, nevertheless I will keep these techniques in mind by the next time I perform.
The show was great btw!
