Info~ can't drop previous
im trying to use info~ to make a sample playing drum machine. im using Groove~ for the drum machine part but im trying to use Info~ to change the buffer size for the Groove~ as well as all the loop start and endpoints. it works fine but Info~ will only spit out the first ( Total time). in other words, it only tells the total time of the first Wav. that it reads from the buffer. when i change the Wav. thats in the buffer it will only tell me the time of the first wav. that was in the buffer. any ideas?
doesn’t groove~ pick up on the buffer~ resizing automatically when a new sample is loaded in? anyway, if you attach a bang out of the right buffer~ outlet into the info~ inlet then it should do the trick.
naa. it still won’t clear the previous Time. the Info~ will display evry other paramiter updated, just not the sample time. any other ideas? thanks :)
can’t understand why not. this works perfectly for me. can’t think of anything else right now….. :-(

ok so i was using messege: read instead of messege: replace. that made all the dif. i dont know why though :(
it’s because ‘replace’ resizes the buffer, but ‘read’ doesn’t – so you keep getting the original buffer size reported in info~
yeah i missed that one. this is the first time im messing with any sample bassed stuff. sorry for the noob question

Works for me, how did you change the wave? Or did you change the
buffer~? then you need to tell info~ that you changed the buffer~….
