interact with

Sep 01 2014 | 12:40 pm

Hello dear list,
I would like to touch the stars with my hands!!!

Ok :-)
i have loading a star.dae file .
I’m using and jit.bfg to place them erratically over a wonderful blue night sky.

I would like to make them move with my hands.

To interact with this using my hand how would one of you do?

Kinect, jit.cyclop, cv.jit ?

The purpose of the movement is to push them away from the sky and to bring them back…

So any consideration, advice, patch etc… is really, really welcome…

Thank you

Did you try the Leap motion ? kinect can also be a solution providing the mandatory pose is not a problem.

hmmmm… Think your going to need and then use jit.phys.ghost to have collision and forcefield effects. I think if you get the location of your hands with Kinect or leap motion then send the xyz position to the position of jit.phys.ghost.

Hello Stephane and Andro,
Thanks for your answers.
I will try with kinect using KinectA to get hand info via OSC and try to get collision with jit.phys stuff…
I’ll let you know … show on 20/09
Thank you
Best regards

Hello dear list,
Ok here is a version of a little patch i used to touch the stars…
I took off the part which is about scaling data coming from your "sensors" system and left an easy red bang to shoot them out of the sky.
There are 2 files you need star12.dae which is the file for find through sketchup community and whitestar.jitmtl.

I have a lot of questions now because this is as usually with max the iceberg top
But before asking, i’ll be wise and tweak around with params and sniff around this forum to get some infos.
