JitterPushSource.dll - WinXP crash

Hi,

I saw the same problem on the forum dating from 2005 with no solution.

During jitter install (after a successful MaxMSP installation) I get this error:
Module C:Program FilesCycling '74MaxMSP
4.5supportJitterPushSource.dll failed to register. HRESULT
-2147024770.

This results in the MaxMSP crashing (it just goes away without any kind of error message) during jitter initialization.

This is a fresh WinXP SP2 install.

Any pointers?

ok. nevermind for now.
Seems like jitter does not like java6. Downgrading to 5 got me at least the thing on.

However, I still don't understand that error during the installation. Anyone else seen it?

Yes, I've seen it a couple of times during different installations.
Always comes down to the Java installation. For myself the solution
wasn't Java 6, but a particular *build* of Java 6 - only a few weeks
apart. You could also try with the very-very latest Java, that just came
out a few days ago, and see if that solves your issue? Or the build
before that (which might be the one I'm on now?) - that worked, as far
as I remember.

Andreas.
