I am very new to max. I was wondering if I could create a limiter behind the scene on a signal so that when I turn up my knobs on the apc40 they won't max out the signal. I know how to do it by editing the mapping of the apc40 the problem is the scroll and auto map functions go away.

So I was thinking max can limit the high mid and low as well as the overall gain?
