Some quick thoughts on the impact of Live 9 and the Max for Live community.

Exciting times! I can't wait to see how my costs per month for bandwidth go up. YAY.

I think the most important thing to know is the new LOM and what changes have been made to Max for Live in details.
As far as I know nothing has been published yet. It would be great to get some details. Current crossgrade sale is interesting but only makes sense to me if the LOM is expanded and shortcomings of the current API have been solved. On top of my wishlist is creation of clips in Ableton and proper functions to create cue points in clips... Stil dream of a Max for Live powered Browser to hold my DJ Collection and being able to load Files from m4l Device in a Live Clip.

I'd really wish Midi and Key Learn via Ableton Live for custom UI max objects ( even jsui stuff ).
And a live.track, and a live.clip objects.
So one can build in Max a reduced version of Live Session View.
I guess is just a dream.
Live 9 seems coming up nicely but IMHO still to much dj oriented.
Not so flexible for deep live impro.

I'm curious about how that convolution reverb is built.
I like the improvements. Besides the Ableton Push, that is.
And I would have liked multichannel support!

prepare for a gazillion new users who haven't used max before, like me:]

I am very very very excited about the chance to get into max. seems user friendly so far (using the demo of 5 on abe 8)

My personal hope for the M4L API in Live 9 is that it will allow access to automation data, both reading and editing.

My personal wish for M4L API is that standard max UI objects ( jsui included ) can be seen by the Midi/Key learn system in Ableton Live. I'd like to give my devices a personal GUI. And i'm quite tired of live.x UI objects appearence :-P

my favourite is the convolution reverb. The work Alex Harker and the Ableton designing team have done around the HISStools is just mind-blowing. It sounds amazing and they go some creative places that I would have not dreamed of... nice one!
