Max 6.1 Crash on Startup - Mac

Hi,

I am running Max 6.1 on a Retina Macbook Pro 15", and as of today I can't open the app. I don't even get as far as a startup screen. I have trashed the Max preferences in Application Support but to no avail. Any advice gratefully received.

Crash log attached.

Cheers

Tom

Further information which might be useful...

If I try running Max without my iLok, I do at least get as far as the authorisation dialog, but if I select 'Demo' I get the same crash behaviour.

Cheers

OK, continuing self diagnosis reveals it is something to do with the cv.jit extensions. I will try to isolate which one, but at least I can get back into Max now. Strangely, the extensions were running perfectly well for a while, hence it not being obvious that it was these which were causing the problem.

I will update this thread if I discover more.

Cheers

I'm probably just talking to myself here, but will document what I've just learned in case it might be of use to somebody in the future.

In copying across the extensions from a previous version of Max to the Cycling74 folder in 6.1.3, I put all the cv.jit extensions (.maxpat files) in the top level of the Cycling74/Extensions folder. This causes the crash. Putting these files in a subfolder solves the problem, and all appears to function normally after doing this. Quite why it continued to work for a while and then stopped I have no idea, but there you go.
