Max Very Slow Startup

james brouwer's icon

Hi
Have been using the Max demo for a few days now upgraded from older versions,
and it takes a very long time to boot up. Like over 5 minuets,
I'm running a G5 duel 2ghz, so speed should be a problem.
Any ideas?

should I just reinstall OS X as have been having problems with other software in 10.4.6.

Boot into your machines startup CD/DVD by inserting it, rebooting and
holding 'c' key, and run a disk repair. That does not sound normal.

I vaguely remember reading about problems when a network drive is in
the Max search, and it can't find it, so it has to wait to time out
before proceeding, or something like that.
