MaxScore/LiveScore
Hello,
MaxScore/LiveScore was just updated to version 0.3.3. Please check it out at http://www.computermusicnotation.com/?page_id=22.

MaxScore 0.4 has just been released. This update contains some major bug fixes and changes. Here are some of them:
1. Microtonal notation preferences have been moved to the Pitch Tool.
2. The Pitch Tool has been redesigned and is easier to use.
3. For the entry of equal tempered scales, use the nTET-entry "keyboard".
4. There is better support for Just Intonation with three more entry modes.
5. The user can now set a preference whether playback is automatically performed in overdrive which greatly improves accuracy.
6. The editor does a better job now keeping track of repeated accidentals in 1/8 and 1/12-tone notation modes.
This is, most likely, going to be the last update before the next major release starting with version number 1, to be expected sometime in the fall. This Max 6 only version will feature a new and advanced drawing context, xml import, dynamic notation for alternate representations of microtonal music and much more.
MaxScore 0.5 was released today. It comes with a number of bug fixes and new features, most notably a Style menu which lets you change the notation style on a per staff basis (rather than changing it for the entire score) and Quick Text for easy attachment of text to measures, measure/staffs and notes. This release also brings support for Live 9 (32-bit) and requires Max 6.1 to be installed.

I'd like to point out that MaxScore is currently at version number 0.7.10 and is still going strong. The main focus of development is the MaxScore Editor. Recent work was mainly on graphic and microtonal notation. Other features, setting it apart from similar music notation solutions in Max, are its integration into Ableton Live, the ability to create pdfs directly from Max/Live and its adaptability in various ways: Virtual keyboards for microtonal notation and playback, a plugin environment based on Max patches to extend its functionality, integration of the Bravura font including a font browser. A number of staff styles, sorting of staves, cross staff notation, and many more tools choosable from its four floating palettes. The graphic notation unique to any Max score object relies on a Max abstraction called Picster which has been completely redesigned for more comfort and stability, including an undo/redo system with unlimited steps.
MaxScore 0.8 in the works
We are working on a new version of MaxScore which we will begin to beta test shortly. This version will draw to a new canvas implementing the MGraphics drawing language, thereby kissing goodbye to the old canvas which was based on a 30-year old technology called QuickDraw. Users will appreciate the ability to display svg files, use Bezier curves as well as to transform (rotation and distortion) any graphics element, greatly enhancing the appearance of scores generated with MaxScore/LiveScore.
The Picster editor was also improved in the meantime, now working in tandem with the MGraphics-based canvas. We are looking forward to great scores, be it purely graphical or hybrid.
