I feel just like I’m back learning how to use max/msp all over again, stumbling along, tweaking testing and not entirely sure why it’s not working.
Up until now I have been using a relatively old version of msp alongside an mbox2 as my audio interface.
the actual processing of audio once it’s in Max, I don’t have a problem with at all, it’s just the getting it in and out that’s frustrating me.
For example, I had a nice little patch that ran any audio sent into the spdif input of the mbox2 (default channels 3/4) straight out of the analogue outs (out 1/2). I only used it to connect my pc’s onboard soundcard to a my speakers via the mbox, so rather than having to do a physical ‘re-patch’, I could just run the max ‘patch’ and all would be great.
(patch also had a little .wav record breakout from the adc~)
All the patch consisted of was an ASIO driver selection on load, then an adc~ going straight to a dac~. I’ve attached the patch incase anyone finds it useful in helping out!
My DSP status I think is all correct, driver sets to asio digidesign, and input channels 3 + 4 are selected. And I know the mbox is seeing the physical connection because the spdif sync LED is on!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I feel like I’ve missed something stupidly obvious (as is always the way!)
