I would like to create a m4l device replicating the functionality of the "external instrument" device that comes with live. This way I would be able to choose the same track to send midi back to, or choose midiyoke as an output

Does anyone know if this is possible in m4l?

Or is there something special about the external instrument device, thats specific to live, that im not understanding?

I would love to know how to do this. If anyone has any ideas of how it could be done, I would be really grateful.
