objects to use after adc~ for brass
Hi,
I will start to built a real-time patch to transform the sound of a brass duo (trumpet -trombone) (use some traitements for example like phase voocoder, glizmo, timestrech, combfilter, etc)
Can you advise me what will be the important objects to use after adc~ (ezdac~) 'cause brass sounds are too
loud (use a gain~?). I must use also a filter after the gain~?
Thank you for your help!!

If your sound is bad after your adc~, then it's too late.
You should first be concerned with your microphone (I recommend a DPA 4099T) and preamp.
Then you need to send your signal to MSP, just set the volume right at your console, or preamp, or soundcard input. Make sure you keep enough headroom to be certain you won't clip the soundcard during fff (you may need a compressor in some cases).
Don't worry about the effect level in MSP, but make sure the signal level doesn't clip before your dac~ (insert a gain~ and a level meter for that).

THANK YOU PATRICK FOR YOUR ADVICE !, Unfortunately I only have Oktava Mics, I will try to find
the DPA Clips mics or similar.
It's nice to have clips microphones to avoid as much as possible feedback or unwanted sounds, but they may be in the way if mutes are used.
So maybe your Oktava mics are OK (if they accept the sound pressure).
