open a .gendsp file?

Hm.. i guess i must be overlooking something here.. I'm actually doing a lot within gen and I started to make gen abstractions some time ago too. Now i see that i can not siimply open a .gendsp file is that right??
My problem is that I apperently have two files with the same name and I can't tell which one of them is the right one. I do have a stupid seeming solution for this problem so that's not an issue, but, is it true that we can't simply open a gendsp file? Or is something messed up just with my pc..? I'd be very grateful for any clarification/help

btw. gen obviously doesn't print out "there are two files named xy.. using this file.."
Which is a pitty. Also maybe a little additional feature request: "using this file: ..
here is the other file: ..." would be handy!

Hi WOYTEG,
Open the .gendsp or .genjit in texteditor then c/p and then ctrl-alt-n in Max. It's a stupid workaround i know but you'll see the difference in your two files with the same name.
I'm on a mac btw

Hey thanks a lot my workaround was more stupid, so thanks!
A pitty though that it doesn't work to simply open it
