oscbonjour - crashing max

I am running OSX 10.7.1 with max 5.1.9 (everything up to date). I have a basic and simple patch that uses the external oscbonjour and for some reason when I first built the patch, the one oscbonjour object worked fine.

I quit out of max and reopened the patch and it immediately crashed max. I tried a few times with the same results. So I restarted my computer and reopened with the same crash. I eventually went into the text file and removed the oscbonjour object. My patch opened fine and as soon as I added the oscobonjour object back it crashed.

Any clue as to why this is happening or how I can fix it?

I'm open to any suggestions or troubleshooting suggestions

I should also mention that I have used oscbonjur a few times with the same computer and same versions of my OS and max.

So nothing really has changed...

Well I found that IRCAM is no longer maintaining oscbonjour, the last update was in june of 2006. But they recommended a different external that is "more powerful". You can find it here:

I don't know exactly what oscbonjour does for you, but I have some zeroconf Max objects here:

Yup, thats the objects that I posted a link to. I just didn't say what the names where.

But thanks!

Hey guys,

If you feel like using java for this, maybe you could check out these:

@Mattijs Did you build these java externals? I'll check them out soon.

One of these java external (OscService) doesn't work on 64 bits.
Any clue how to modify it to work on that architecture?
