Patch Switch Waveform problem

May 21 2009 | 1:36 pm

I have a problem with waveform information when i switch between patches.

I have set up a patch switcher using a bpatcher to switch between 3 slightly different recording loopers.

When i open the first patch and record audio into the waveform i can see the data perfectly. But, when i switch to a different patch and record audio again it doesn’t appear in the waveform. Am i missing something completely?!?

i know the audio records each time because i can hear it but i can’t see the waveform information when i switch to another patch.

Thanks for any help!

Are you using just one [buffer~] or a different one in each patch? Try sending "set thenameofyoubuffer" to [waveform~] every time you switch.

hi, yea i’m using multiple buffers with different names (buffer1, buffer2 etc)

i have a loadbang on each buffername "set" message but still same problem

ok…something strange has happened now.

im using a tab to switch through the patches, if i select the tab button it doesn’t work, but when i select the same tab it works?!?

i have to press it twice to get it to work. i’m guessing it is something to do with the tab switcher, im going to try it out with normal buttons and in a little while. i must have messed up somewhere along the line.

thanks again dude

If you’re still not having any luck then post your patch here, using the copy compressed method described in the sticky posts at the top of the forum.

Recently there was an other thread about vague waveform behavior. You might have look for reference.
