2 days testing, searching the forum and 'all internet' without succes...

I'm writting a max4live patch (I'm sure it's not a m4l issue) to control a lot of steppers motors with arduino(s) and configurable-firmata (all is ok on this side, I can move steppers, read endstops).

- I have a main patch with human interface and interactions with Live midi data (ok), and 2 sub-patches :

- sub-patch #1 called "settings" where I manage all steppers settings recorded in a 'pattrstorage settings', each preset contains all settings datas for each stepper

- sub-patch #2 called "steppers"(so it's same level to settings) who manage the steppers movements

the 'simple' thing I want to do is "steppers" getstoredvalue from some target value stored in "settings", for example I want the pos_max value of preset 3 (the maximum step numbers of stepper #3)

I tried a lot and lot of things, include pattrmarker, but i'm lost in the hierarchy... I can't read "settings" values from "steppers"

Maybe the solution is far from pattrstorage, but I want also save settings on external file, and I want those settings stored in a sort of array, since I have to manage a lot of steppers, each with different settings, and just want to say in max langage : "Ok Max, please move stepper #17 to position 2127" and max, within "steppers" sub-patche, have to read settings("settings" sub-patch) for this stepper to know where is it (current position), where is the limit max, is the endstop on clockwise or anti-clockwise position, etc, etc (sorry for my english, but I'm really understand what I try to explain^^)

But I start to believe this is not possible... but I think it is, since Max is powerfull...

Now I changed all the data storage system... moved to SQLite within js, and... what a wonderfull world... little time consuming to learn, but so powerfull and light compare to coll pattrstorage or dict things (for large amount of parameters to store and rows of data).
