This is not the way to do it for any jit.gl.* object, rather only to
define a texture through jit.gl.render. What you need to do is send
to a named instance of jit.gl.texture, and then set the texture name
for any object.
Since this is pretty fundamental, I would suggest you (re)read the
documentation, help files, and examples for more information, and
demonstrations of use.
