I'm trying to do a Max4Live device where i have to drop folders of samples.

Dropfile and then pattrstorage or live.drop?

Seems that live.drop does not support folders.

dropfile seems to accept only thing dropped from the Max browser and dropping from the Win enviroment seems not to work.
Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Dropfile should be easily usable with stuff dropped from a Windows explorer. But live.drop, as its reference page also tells you, is only usable for stuff which was dragged in from the Live browser.

i'm on Win7 64 bit and dropping files to dropfile from the windows explorer does not work.

I'm experiencing inconsistent buggy behavior on Win7 64bit when dragging from Windows explorer into dropfile.

The help Patchers that contain the dropfile object work fine but it won't work when I try to create my own Patchers with it.

I can consistently recreate the behaviour with this Patcher - which is basically a cut down version of the folder help Patcher:

3. Add a folder object with the argument "./Cycling '74/max-help"

5. Connect output of drop file to input of folder and output of folder to input of umenu

6. Lock patch and drag folder onto dropfile

7. Scratch my head and wonder why it's not working

I have the same issue, dropfile on Win7 does not work. Got the help version working at some point but not anymore.

I have the same problem, even after a clean reinstall it won't work. It used to work before. 

I have Windows 10 and the latest version Max 8.3.1 installed...

Anybody still having this issue?

It won't even work in the help file .. only dragging single elements from within the max browser window. 

Same issues when trying to drag any soundfile, video or image...

same issue :( only works when patcher is unlocked smh

works in both locked and unlocked patches without problems.
