I'm trying to concept a form of notation that would focus less on harmony and melody, but instead on modulation, timbre and groove 

. Lots of experimental notations exist, but what I would like to do is also write software in Max that converts scanned pages into usable data.

Can someone give me some pointers on what to look into for doing this? I imagine this being a multi step process, and a lot of work. I would probably need some sort of OCR external, and a way to grab certain parts of a page with Jitter and then convert the drawn modulation to CC data. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
