select object for pitch class?

Feb 21 2012 | 4:13 am

I’m looking for a simple way to be able to use the select object for pitch classes. I’m working on a piece for improvised solo piano + live electronics. There is a particular place in the piece where I want to trigger some pre-recorded sounds, but the sound that is triggered would be dependent upon the note I just played.

I have a pitch tracker set up (using pitch~). And I could just use select for each of the 88 keys on the piano. But if there were a way to have it recognize all of the A’s – for example – as one pitch class, it would save a lot of time and processing.

Any suggestions?
