I found that I could run multiple instances of Max just by copying the entire Max folder, however the thread also mentions using a command line prompt to do the same, which does not seem to work on Windows. So first of all, is there a Windows equivalent to '-n' as used on Mac?

Any more information about this subject would be great (when/how is Max checking if it's already running, ways to bypass that, is there a configuration setting?, etc.) however, what I really need to do now is run multiple instances of a standalone of mine simultaneously. Is there any easy way to do so? A setting perhaps? It would be great to have one.

I really need to load VSTs on command into vst~, but doing so causes lag in the rest of the code. As a separate application, it doesn't. My current notion is simply to copy my standalone's folder say 30 times and use [DOShack] to open instances at will. But that's about as far from elegant as you can get, so I was hoping for a better way.

Setting that lets my standalone be run in multiple instances simultaneously?
