[Sharing] – Simple Gen~ Granular synth

October 19, 2013 | 6:37 am

This is a granular synth patch that I’ve developed in gen~. Nothing extraordinary, but it’s quite low on cpu and it could allow multiple channels working on the same or various samples.

Hope you enjoy it. Comments and suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Excellent work here. It’s simplistic while not sacrificing stylistics- I was able to get some interesting results almost immediately.

My only critique is the "Wanderer" option- While it’s implementation is spot on after the option has been terminated you’ll discover that you no longer have control over the playback marker until the project has been restarted.

Thanks for sharing!

Propably really stupid question, but how do i load samples to this thing?

simply create a buffer~ object and name it after one of the items in the umenu object (sample.x). You can load a sample in that buffer~ and select it from the umenu.

That makes sense, thanks :)

In the meantime, this equally unimposing gen-based granulator may keep you satisfied:

sorry guys, I moved the dropbox folder… :/

Hi Chris
if you name a gen patcher, as you have done, you need to include the associated gen file. Can you re-save this, with maybe an un-named gen patcher, or include the gen file. looking forward to having a tinker!

i.e., our version has an empty/blank gen patcher

Hi brendan,

you are right, I wasn’t thinking about that… :/
