I'm using two jit.qt.movie objects to display alternating video clips. Loopreport is on and the loopnotify message is used to start the movie in the other movie object.

The system is working fine except that there is a 0.5 second lag before the next movie starts. The movies are loaded beforehand while the other movie object is playing, so I don't think that is the problem. I have tried to send a "loadram" message to the movie objects, but it did not help.

generally, your best bet is to have a 1 to 1 correspondence between your movie files, and a jit.qt.movie external in your patch. at initialization you read each movie into it's qt.movie object.

you must make sure @autostart is 0 (or that you send the stop message to each movie) until you are ready to cue that movie, and that you again stop it (and stop sending bangs to it) when you are done with it.

poly~ makes this all much easier (although somewhat daunting to set up for inexperienced users).

search the forum for "poly~ for movies" of something similar.
