I think there is an argument for c74 to still sell and support/maintain v5 until v6 becomes more stable and mature, and less of the public beta that it is now (say another 6 months). maybe sell it at a discount, and then have an upgrade price to 6 to recoup the difference if the user so chooses to upgrade later on.

that would be great. as much as i would, i can´t pay the full price due to a mountain of debts and critical health. that´s no joke or excuse.

so far i reinstall the demo every 30th day, on two computers. which means reinstalling the entire system on both the machines. doint it that way since 10 months it spoils my enthusiasm meanwhile.

Hi,
Max 5 and 4.6.3 are still downloadable…
So everyone (by chance) can use max 5!

Probably you have, but have you considered whether PD fulfills your needs? There’s a nice introduction to PD here:

http://aspress.co.uk/ds/pdf/pd_intro.pdf

It’s part of Andy Farnell’s (very interesting) book. Actually, I think it’s a good read for both Max and PD users.

thanks for the link.

the tasteless "answer" of Philippe OLLIVIER could have been a perfect reason for exploring pd, but I don´t have the time to relearn objects and their details. I don´t do this for programming pleasure anymore, it must come to music as soon as possible.
