Here’s what I want to do. I created a series of .SDIF files using Michael Klingbeil’s SPEAR, and I basically want to do what SPEAR does but with a lot more capability: specifically, I want to select individual snippets (those represented graphically in SPEAR) algorithmically and (among other things) distribute them into a multichannel space — statically and, if possible, also dynamically. I want to be able to select by average frequency, by duration, by amplitude, etc.
I wonder if MuBu is the right environmental tool for such things and would appreciate any tips.
i am not using it so i can tell you if the buffer object for example has the option to output the positions of slices or some kind of analysis data upon your request, but a set of externals which can load sdif files is for sure more flexible than spear will ever be; it will allow you to do things in realtime, or do batchprocessing, among other things.
