Strange MIDI frequency error!

Using Max 6 demo, OSX 10.6.8 Lion

Not sure what started this, but now every time I open a new patch and send a [kslider]->[mtof]->[makenote]->[noteout], the resulted audio is incorrect! The frequencies pumping out of [mtof] are correct, but the audio plays at a different frequency...

For example, D1 (36.7081 Hz) sounds more like a C1 (32.7032 Hz). And upwards from there, the audio goes out of sync with chromatic tuning altogether, and around 1-2 octaves up, results in the same super-high-pitched note no matter what key is pressed.

It wasn't always this way. Any idea what could've caused this? I tried restarting Max, and even tried tweaking the dsp audio settings around, but it didn't appear to have any effect. Please note that this IS NOT a keyboard-related issue, as I do not own a MIDI keyboard. I am simply creating/connecting max objects in a brand new patch.

I figured it out, and officially feel retarded.
There is no need for [mtof] when using [makenote], as they both take the same pitch argument.
