A patch of mine (essentially a channel strip) loads up 8 instances of the same subpatch on startup, inside of which is a VST~ object. This works fine when loading a regular VST plugin, however when loading one of the Waves plugins using the waveShell method, nothing is loaded. Instead the following message is posted;
vst~: The 1 parameter of WaveShell VST 7.vst is:
The only way that I have been able to get around this is by re-loading the subpatch (i.e. adding or subtracting .maxpat). Then it works fine.
I am very puzzled by this and any suggestions are welcomed. Should I have a tilda after the name of the subpatch as audio is passing through it? Is there also standard practice in this situation as to whether you do or don’t put the .maxpat on the end.
