USB cam not working with jit.qt.grab

May 08 2006 | 5:16 pm

This is the first time i am trying to get a USB video signal into jitter. I have always just used firewire, and it just worked.

computer is a PC laptop running XP home.
I am taking an analogue RCA signal off a pinhole cam and running it through a belkin F5U208 video to USB converter. Belikin drivers are installed but I can not see the vid in MAX.

is there a different object than the jit.qt.grab for doing this?

I am thinking that there is a bit of nasty things happening with the conversion and the driver and all. perhaps i should just go out and buy a USB cam and break it apart?

Since I have always been on Mac, i did not know about jit.dx.grab for the PC that was my problem!

just figured it out.

sorry to waste anyone’s valuable time.

(i feel like noob)

Hi Chris,
You should switch over to using jit.dx.grab on Windows, as your camera
most likely doesn’t have Quicktime drivers.
