can anyone recommend a decent USB hub? i recently got a new mac book and it only has 2 USB slots and i need 4. I bought a cheap hub that works fine powering a fully backlit midi controller but wont let my mac recognise my human interface game controllers.

I have Moshi iLynx and it works perfectly. If I connect its USB and Firewire ports, I can power one USB audio interface, one external HDD and one pendrive at same time and they work. It´s great although it´s a bit big:
