Using Live and APC40 as midicontroller with help of Max For Live
Hi
the idea is to use the 8 APC40 device-control-knobs for sending a midi-controller-number.
The Audio Effect Rack in Ableton has also 8 knobs and seems to be perfect for this.
The Ableton support told me that it could work with Max For Live but they are not sure.....
I've got a max for live demo today but I have no idea how to manage this??
Does anyone have an idea???
Thank you!!!
I think you probably need to be a little clear on what you're trying to achieve??
Cheers

Eh? The APC40 has 8 encoders BECAUSE it's supposed to match the 8 macros of any rack. That's how it was made!
The 8 Device Control encoders map automatically to the 8 macros of any rack that is in focus. You don't need M4L to achieve this.
Hi
sorry, there is a mistake on my part. the audio rack is wrong, I mean the midi-effect-rack.
I would like to controll an externel device (eclipse effect processor) with amp 40.
If I open a midi-effect-rack the macros match to the device control and I can record them. but I want the macros to send mididata via my midiinterface (RME Fireface).
Is it clear??? sorry for my english :(
thank you!

You need to create some GUI object in your device (eg. live.dial).
The steps for mapping are exactly the same as with native Live devices, described in the manual, chapter 17.7 Using Macro Controls.
okie. I undestand the Live mapping.... now I have to understand the GUI ;)
thanx!
Looks great! Can you post this device as a download, I use the APC40 as well and have the same wish... Thank you!
