Video Processing System Tutorial Series pt.1 question

Hi there,

regarding the first installment of Andrew’s tutorial series, I’d like to understand the purpose of the colormode conversions within the texture conversion sub patch.

I do understand that uyvy colormode is more efficient (50%) than argb, but haven’t fully grasped the need to convert the color info back into rgba. Is this required to apply the subsequent shaders (co.*.jxs), or is it related to getting back to the full resolution ?

Speaking of shaders, is there any background information on the provided jitter shaders ?
