Video speed problems

Hi I am trying to get Jitter to interface with a console on a stationary bike. The faster the bike goes the faster the video goes the slower the bike goes the slower the video goes. So far I have been having trouble getting jitter to play the video without lagging on High res. I want to get the best quality possible. Any suggestions on how to make this work more efficently?

Can I use different codecs how are they used?

how have you encoded your video material?

You might wanna read the section "video codecs" onhttps://cycling74.com/docs/max5/tutorials/jit-tut/jitterappendixa.html

and search the forum for recent discussions regarding codecs. apple intermediate and pro-res are two that come to mind as being recommended.

and of course the vade optimization tutorials:http://abstrakt.vade.info/?p=147

do I need to specify in MaxMSP what codec I want to use?

In the article you sent it says

"most should have migrated to GL anyway (hint hint!)."

how do you take advantage of open gl in Max?

did you look at the patches? 4,5 and 6 are all done with opengl. if they don't make sense you need to study the relevant tutorials.
