the answer is no. the vst object can only give you a list of available vst parameters, and if you want to have midi cc input you have to add that yourself.
you might dislike the idea when it comes to some of the bigger instruments because you might already have a pro-53 preset in your doepfer drehbank … but the truth is that creating your own midi cc links in maxmsp also allows you to midify ALL plug-ins, i.e. the 90% of the effects which do not have midi by their own.
or why not build your own midi learn function? or control 2 synths with one cc?
