Vst managment
hi friends !!!
quick question
having multiple vst objects loaded in a patcher , seems like a real stretch ! (even using less CPU hogging ones)
I only manage 2/3 at the most , and then crash !!!
Any advise on managing multiple vst instances
kindest regards !!

How is this response helpful in any way?
Well, this is a place for questions about Max/MSP.
Please do not turn it into a fight about PC vs MAC.
My personal experience is that Macs work flawlessly particularly under conditions like the one described by the author of the topic.

You are the one that brought it up, why don't you take
your own advice. Do you have any empirical data that
supports your position? How many VSTs can you run versus
a PC?
Well, I have to do more interesting thinks than from counting the vst~ that I can run
but just out of curiosity I tried and the results is remarkable
Your question of course depends on the system configuration.
For my MacBook [two years old, 2Ghz, Leopard]
I can hit 50 Pluggo plug ins with 50% CPU utilization [sorry but it is boring for me to extend the patch even via copy and paste]
At the same time I run Logic Pro with 10 plug-ins and itunes and iphoto + Skype + ical + photobooth + qtime movie play back + mail + safari web browser.
I think that this is far enough from the 2-3 plugs of the initial post

50% utilization is without the other stuff running....
Hey guys !!
Ok , well I do use a MAC
weird thing is that today the VST's seem more stable !!
computers are sometimes capricious like that I guess
anyway thanks for yout time , and confirming that MSP is capable of multiple vst's beyond any patcher's dream
HA! There you go, proof that MACs are unreliable ;)
