Wii controller for spatialising 3d audio
Dear all,
I am going to use a wii controller to spatialise audio in 3d using an ambisonic panner with surround and elevation controls. i am basically going to need the equivelant of x/y/z coordinates .
I would be most grateful if somebody could give me step by step instructions on how to get information from the wii to my max patch. I have managed to get the wii connected by blue tooth and in osculator it is reading the wii - but no luck getting from osculator to the max patch (have tried up receive and osc route briefly). Another option is apparently disis.aka.wiiremote but this doesnt seem to receive any info at all. Any help would be great.
If you have the Wiimote connected to OSCulator then you are well on your way. From OSCUlator, you can opt to send the data to Max as MIDI data or via OSC. There are templates for both in the OSCulator documentation.
If you choose to use the MIDI path, look into using the ctlin in object. If you choose to go the OSC path, look into CNMAT's OSC route objects.
Hope this helps. Happy patching.
