Would anyone be interested to help me in a massive (global) art collaboration?
I was looking at the wall in my flat this evening and, well, it's bare. I like the minimal look and all but maybe I'm taking it too far. So I decided to look at some prints online. I found nothing.
Then I had this idea; I could have a massive MaxMSP patch on my wall! Maybe I'm a mega geek, who knows, but I really am going to do this now. Now I could very well go ahead and do it myself but what I thought would be cooler if members of the max community contributed something?
It doesn't have to be an actual patch, or maybe it can if you like I haven't set any rules. You can just connect a load of random stuff together and make it aesthetically awesome. Or, you can post a proper patch with loads of comments on it and stuff - I really don't mind. The only rule I do have is, if you do contribute, please leave your name or alias and country of location so I know who did what and I'll label each section of the 'uber patch' when i stitch it all together.
When it's finished (if it even gets started :p), I'll upload it on my server and anyone can download and print off themselves. It won't necessarily be in the colours of max though. Anyway, I'm aiming for 1-square meter which is like 7000 pixels each way at 200DPI. Still, I don't think this is too ambitious.
If a few people are interested I'll create a starting patch and maybe we can go from there. I really hope this gathers momentum as I think it would be really cool! If you know anyone who might be interested let them know!
I think many of us forum-ites qualify for the term mega-geek, it's no bad thing! I would be up for trying to make something in a couple days after this pesky uni work is out of the way. If it's assembled well it could actually look really cool!
You are going to love this guy then: http://www.unseensignals.com/Unseensignals/Still_Images.html
some amazing stuff on his webpage :)
Definitely check out Eric's page, linked above. I've got one of his prints and it is awesome!
