Transfer License to iLok?

Hello

I am currently running MAX/MSP on a hard disk authorised machine but want to transfer the license to an iLok. Is this possible?

Hello,

i did this a few years ago - without a problem.
I think you can just fill in your information into the form on this website (Support>authorize>ilok Authorization Form) and an asset will be placed into your ilok-User-Account.

In my experience software companies take the hard line - so losing the dongle is like losing the right to using the program. That's why insurance is recommended for the dongle which adds to the cost of your home insurance (if you can actually get them to insure the software licenses) and therefore the cost of using the software. This can be seen to inconvenience the legitimate paying users and favour cracked copy users who have no problems at all with dongles.

As you say Stefan there should be a simple way of deactivating the license on the lost / stolen dongle but I have yet to find a company that has attempted to implement this.

Sorry this is not a rant because I'm looking forward to getting the iLok and using the software on the different machines I access at different times, which cannot be done with the machine specific authorisation.
