troubleshoot: buffer~ doesn't read any files
Hey everyone,
I stumbled upon a weird issue that I've never experienced before. Just recently installed Max 8 and for some reason the buffer~ object just refuses to load any files. Max window outputs a message - "cannot open parser for this file". Tried searching the forum, seems like I'm not the first one to experience a variation on this issue, but I couldn't find any particular solution.
Tired removing max and reinstalling it back. Doesn't help.
Does anyone have suggestions/resolution?

you didnt define a buffersize?...
I believe I don't have too as it usually automatically adjusts to the size of the file. "replace" message doesn't work either
Did you solve this? Some of my users claim there is are wave files they cant load. I use maxs replace message to change the file path loaded in the buffer.
Can you post (a link to) such a wave file?
yeah, as far as I remember that's what it was. don't remember though if there was anything specific about those files.
