trying to read a track name & send info down serial port

hi - so i have been working on this AMX touchpanel control project for the last month or so, it works pretty good at the moment but is a work in progress as i continually think of new things to try and do with it

currently i am trying to read the name of whatever track channel i am on and then send that info into the serial object so that it can be picked up by the processor for the touchpanel on the other side of the COM port but the patch i have at the moment to try and read this data is totally crashing Live, to the point where it wont even load the Live set with the device in until i open a new blank set and load the device and re-edit it, which freaked me out a bit the other day as i thought i'd messed up my whole set

anyway - can someone have a look at the patch below and see if you can see where it is going wrong please? a friend told me that 'the live num might be getting confused trying to store preset information at the same time as accessing the channel name ' but that info is a bit beyond me at the moment
