How can I send on/off message from a max msp patch to the nano Kontrol 2 ?
This is to build a step sequencer with the "on's" showing when selecting different sequences

This was not possible with the original nanoKontrol. Maybe it's still not possible with their v2.

I bought a v2 to do this

But I just can't get it..

I tryed sending to "nanoKontrolButton 34 /osc/button/middle/8" like in the end of the link (nickhwang) but I dont know what is this and what middle, osc/button etc means. It does nothing.
I tryed this while sending the midi to nano korg.

Indeed, it is possible with v2. But I can't test it!

Here's what's stated in the manual:

The LED will light-up or go dark when a message with the control change number or note number that’s assigned to that button is received from the computer. The LED will light-up when an On Value or Note On message is received, and will go dark when an Off Value or Note Off message is received.

Don't forget to set LED mode to external.

allright there it is :

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

you need to have this in a midi track, and send midi to nanokontrol 2 @ the right midi channel. (selected in kontrol editor)

Cool, @odonjohn! I'm glad you figured it out. Next time, you could email me (Nick Hwang).
