Im playing around with the Gen export function and I am running into two problems.

a) I cant install the Package from the Package Manager. After I click install, I get : error while attempting to install Gen plugin export in the top right. No other info. I tried for the last 3 days, re-installed Max, my version is 8.2.1

b) is currently more of a hypothetical, since I cant yet get to the actual code phase, but I am wondering how should I approach the guides from here ( https://github.com/Cycling74/gen-plugin-export ) if I didnt want to make a plugin, but a standalone app for Win10?

Some new developments....I still cant download from the package manager. But what I ended up doing was I just created the gen~ Plugin Export folder and pasted in the contents from the git repo. I followed the steps in the two max patches and managed to actually create the plugin builds with CMake.

Now when I try to build the solution I get the following two errors (I am using visual studio 2022) :

Error    LNK1104    cannot open file 'C74GenPlugin_artefacts\Debug\C74GenPlugin_SharedCode.lib'    C74GenPlugin_VST3    C:\Users\Ario\Documents\Max 8\Packages\gen~ Plugin Export\misc\build\LINK    1

I *suspect* the second one is because I didnt download the VST sdk, but I may be wrong. If it is the case though, how can I avoid that step since I am right now only interested in doing a standalone build of the plugin?
