UA-101 asio driver problem with max

hi,
im having this problem:

windows vista was giving me inexplicable audio glitches in various unpredictable times, so i have gone back to windows xp pro sp2. since switching back to vista however, the ASIO drivers on my Edirol UA-101 won't work in max/msp. I have the latest edirol XP driver installed, and it works fine in other applications such as Renoise.

The ad_mme driver with the UA-101 selected appears to work, however even under this scenario the max window is still not showing any of the usual startup/initialisation text when I open max/msp. It is just blank, which seems odd. When I select the UA-101 ASIO driver, I get this error:

error: ad_asio: ASIOGetClockSources() returned 1.

I have not experienced any other audio glitches or problems which I had with vista since reinstalling XP with the exception of choppy audio with CD-Rom playback which was due to a PIO setting and was fixed by switching back to DMA (this always seems to happen on xp for some reason).

if anyone can shed some light on what is happening with max/msp here i'd be most grateful! many thanks in advance (hopefully).

probably the drivers are no good I see some other people having the same problem
search the error on the forum to see it
you could try and run with some older versions, who knows sometimes...
