Use the trackpad on M1 MBP as a controller?

Hey . .

I hope I'm missing something obvious but I can't get the HI object to recognize the trackpad on my MacBook Pro M1 Max. The trackpad is huge and it would nice to check it out as a controller of some sort. I checked out FingerPinger but I don't think it is M1 compatible due to the dreaded "incorrect architecture" message. Curious if others have ideas or a workable solution. Thanks!

You could give AudioSwift a try - they have a demo available.

Yes, thank you. I tried the audioswift but it caused all manner of problems like the mouse freezing every five seconds or so when in the finder.

Hi,

just coming acoss this post since I want to do a hi based thing...

I found that only the internal Keyboard is outputting data from hi but there are over 20 menu items, 3D connextion mouse is not working here either, some other post was asking this too. So far I got OSCculator for the 3D mouse and Audioswift for the trackpad running perfectly but it would be better to have the functionality of good old hi object back to do a variation of Audioswift which is btw working great with a second trackpad only for that.

cheers Falk

MBP M2Max OSX 14.2.1

ps: hi is used in almost every post so its hard to find HID related posts
